Play Pictionary at home with this generator
All you need is this page on one phone, some paper and two teams.
- Make two teams. Tick Keep score and type in your team names. The team marked “Their turn” goes first.
- Hide the word. Tick Hide the word and pass the phone to the first drawer. They press New word, then press and hold the card to peek. Everyone else just sees a covered card.
- Set the timer. A minute suits most words: try 30 seconds for a quick round and 90 for Hard words. The clock turns pink for the last 10 seconds, and when time runs out it sounds, the card flashes and the word is shown.
- Draw, don't write. The drawer sketches on paper while their team shouts guesses. No letters, no numbers, no talking. Stuck? Skip swaps the word, but the clock keeps running.
- Press Got it! when they say it. The team scores 1 point for an Easy word, 2 for Medium and 3 for Hard, and the turn passes to the other team. Out of time? Press Got it or Missed. First team to 20 wins.
What makes a good Pictionary word
The best words are ones everybody knows and nobody can say without drawing.
- You can picture it. Things, animals, places and actions work: a giraffe, an umbrella, tug of war. Ideas like “gravity” or “procrastinate” have no shape, which is exactly what makes them Hard.
- The room knows it. “Rangoli” and “power cut” land at an Indian family evening; “scrum master” lands at the office. Switch on the packs your group will get.
- It can't be written. If the only way to draw a word is to spell it, it isn't a Pictionary word.
- Two pictures beat one. “Hot dog” and “elephant in the room” make the drawer put two things together, and the wrong guesses on the way are half the fun.
That's why every word here is rated by how it draws rather than how rare it is: Easy words take a few strokes, Medium ones need a second object or a little scene, and Hard ones are ideas you have to act out on paper.

Questions
How does the generator pick words?
At random, from the 1,764 words in Drawdle's 14 themes, filtered by the packs and difficulty you choose. No word comes up twice until every word in your mix has had its turn; then they are shuffled and start again. The words come with the page, so it keeps working if your connection drops.
Can the guessers see the word?
Not with Hide the word ticked. New words arrive covered, and the drawer presses and holds the card to peek, or uses the Show word button. When time runs out the word is shown to everyone.
How long should a Pictionary turn be?
A minute is the classic. Pick 30 seconds for a fast round of Easy words and 90 for Hard ones. On most phones the screen stays on while the timer runs.
How does the scoring work?
Tick Keep score for two teams. Got it! gives the team whose turn it is 1 point for an Easy word, 2 for Medium and 3 for Hard, then passes the turn. Use +1 and −1 to fix a mistake.
