Play Pictionary online, free, with friends

Drawdle is a free online Pictionary game for friends, family and teams. One player draws a word, everyone else races to guess it in the chat, and the quickest right answers score the most. Make a room, send the link on WhatsApp or Slack, and play in your browser on a phone or a laptop. No app, no sign-up, no ads.

It is the classic party game Pictionary, without the board, the sand timer or the hunt for a pencil that works: the game keeps time, shows hints and counts the points, so everyone can just draw and laugh.

How to play

  1. Type your name and create a room.
  2. Share the invite link. Up to 16 people can join.
  3. On your turn, pick one of the words offered and draw it.
  4. Everyone else types guesses. The sooner you guess right, the more points you get, and the drawer scores for every right guess.
  5. Everyone draws once each round. Most points after the last round wins.

Letters of the word appear as the clock runs down, so even a hopeless drawing usually ends with somebody getting it. A guess that is nearly right gets a private nudge, and once you have guessed it your messages stay hidden from the players still trying. Full rules, scoring and drawing tips.

Words for every group

Pick the word packs your group will enjoy: everyday things, animals, food and drink, places, nature, sports, tech, jobs, fantasy, actions, office stuff and corporate slang. Set the difficulty to Easy for kids, Mixed for most groups, or Hard for properly abstract words like “procrastinate”.

The Desi pack is made for Indian players: samosa, cutting chai, gully cricket, Holi, auto rickshaw, Sholay, jugaad and 150 more. See every Desi word.

There is a Diwali pack too, from diyas and mithai boxes to the office party: see the Diwali Pictionary words and a plan for a 15-minute office game.

Or add up to 500 of your own words: family nicknames, office in-jokes, this week's class vocabulary. Play with only your words, or mix them in.

Playing on paper instead? The random Pictionary word generator deals a word with a timer and team scores, and all 1,764 words are listed by theme and difficulty.

Questions

Is Drawdle free?

Yes. Every game, every word pack, no ads.

Do I need to download anything?

No. It runs in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows or Mac. On a phone you can add it to your home screen to open it like an app.

How many people can play?

From 2 to 16 in one room. It is most fun with 4 to 10.

Can we play over a video call?

Yes. Everyone opens the invite link on their own device and talks on Zoom, Meet, Teams or Discord as usual.

Can I use my own words?

Yes. The host can add up to 500 custom words before the game, and the drawer can be allowed to write their own word on their turn.

Will we be playing with strangers?

No. There is no public lobby: only people with your invite link or room code can join, and the host can remove anyone.

What if my internet drops mid-game?

Open the page again and you get your seat back, with your score.
